Short post today since I’m coming off of a flurry of puzzle-related activities. Just a few notes:

2. Thanks to both my brother Justin and my wife Vicki for helping me think of some clues for this puzzle — and for staying patient with me while I was desperately trying to finish it. I’m partial to the clue for 54-Across simply because, technically, it took me longer to write that clue than any other single clue I’ve ever written. I wrote it several weeks ago, and it took a few hours to finish. You should try it as an exercise — it’s way tougher than I imagined!
3. Lollapuzzoola 8 is in one week! If you’re planning on coming, come say hi to me. That’s an order.

Update, 8/1/15 @ 11:30 am ET: I changed the first word of my clue for 22-Across. The original clue was….alright. I dunno, I just like the new one a little better.

Loved the phrases. 40-A is hilarious and sounds exactly like the Captain. BTW, I saw you temped for Rex today and added a comment about your puzzles and site but don’t know if it was accepted. Are there particular rules for posting there now? I don’t read his blog much but the delayed comment process makes it much less appealing. Thanks.

Rex and a few others have begun moderating the comment section now. Nothing gets posted without their approval. Rex decided to change things up when the comments got overwhelmed with trolls posting vicious remarks and often as other people under stolen identities. My hope is that eventually they’ll update the system so that registered users can read comments immediately upon posting, though for now it’s good to get a reprieve from what had been a pretty ugly situation.
Yeah, that was me and hopefully people will check out your stuff. Kinda odd that Rex’s site got trolled but hopefully things will return to normal soon, not that I post there much.
